Overview

Kathryn Funkhouser is a writer of plays, prose, and lyrics whose work for the stage has been produced internationally and throughout the U.S. Her published plays and musicals can be found at Stage Partners, Beat By Beat Press, and Concord Theatricals.

She is currently the Director of Publications and Creative Projects at Stage Partners, where she enjoys finding new ways to support playwrights, theatre-makers, and theatre educators.

She is also the editor of the two interactive collections of monologues curated from Stage Partners plays: Activated Monologues for Female Characters and Activated Monologues for Male Characters.

Her writing has appeared in publications including The Toast, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Atlantic, and The Nation.

She lives in Brooklyn with a lot of original cast albums.
